The Engineering Department is a service department of the project that handles design, operation and maintenance of various equipment(stationary & mobile) and building structures to support the operation of the company. The department has a lineup of technical professionals with expertise in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communications Engineering, Civil Engineering & Marine Engineering. It is composed of six different sections namely; Ancillary, Electrical/ Instrumentation, Mechanical, Power Station, Mobile Equipment Servicesl and Design/Planning Section

Ancillary – Responsible for operation, repair and maintenance of equipment of the Field Environmental Mitigating Unit, Water Treatment Plant, Sewage Treatment Plant and camp/building services such as air conditioning and plumbing works. This section is also responsible for the repair and maintenance major pipelines from the Base Metal Plant to the Lower Tails Storage Facility(LTSF).
Electrical/Instrumentation – This section handles the installation, repair, maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration and rectification works of electrical and instrumentation equipment needed for crushing, conveying, grinding, flotation, thickening, filtration process and camp facilities.
Mechanical Maintenance – In- charge in the installation, repair, maintenance, fabrication works and overhauling of pumps, compressor, rotating machines and other mechanical equipment needed for the Base Metal Plant Operations and other areas of the project.
Power Station – Handles the operation and maintenance of the 10-Megawatt Power Station which supplies electricity to the whole processing plant and camp accommodations. This section is also responsible for the operation of a number of portable generating sets that provides electrical power to distance areas outside of the Base Metals Plant.
Mobile Equipment Services – In- charge in the repair and maintenance of company owned light and heavy mobile equipment, portable welding generators, compressors, slurry and water pumps used outside of the Base Metal Plant. Most of the company drivers are also being handled by this section.
Design/Planning- Responsible for maintenance planning & scheduling, design, drawings and construction and monitoring to ensure continuous and efficient operation of the processing plant equipment and other facilities of the company.
