Water and Wastewater Management

The Process Plant generates wastewater which go to the TSF and is pumped back to the Process Plant for re-use, thereby greatly reducing the demand for fresh water. Only water that meet effluent standards, are discharged from the TSF to the environmental ponds (the settling and finishing ponds) prior to release.

Hazardous substances such as cyanide, reagents, and lubricants are provided with containment bunds. Oil and water separators are provided at the workshop where there is heavy use of lubricants.

A Sewage Treatment Plant treats sewerage from the camp accommodation, kitchen mess, and offices. The effluent discharges by gravity to the wetlands where it is further naturally treated.
