ISO 14001:2004
The Project’s Environmental Management System (EMS) conforms to the requirements of ISO 14001:2004. Rapu-Rapu Mining, Inc (RRMI) is the first open pit mine after the 1995 Mining Act proclamation to receive this certification for its mining operations, tailings dam construction and management, and support services. Rapu-Rapu Processing, Inc. (RRPI) is also ISO certified for its processing plant, wharf, power plant, and engineering operations.
The company was issued its first ISO certification last August 2007 and on May 10, 2011, it was granted another ISO 14001:2004 for its improved environmental performance, improved compliance and regulatory partnerships, reduced waste, increased efficiency, reduced costs, reduced liability, and improved public image. The ISO certification will last until August 19, 2013.
