Environmental and Safety Awards received by the company
The management support boosted the environment and safety performance of the company. As a result, institutions such as the Pollution Control Association of the Philippines (PCAPI) awarded the Projects’s Pollution Control Officer and Environmental Manager as one of the Top Outstanding Pollution Control Officers for year 2009. In the same year, the Philippine Society of Mining Engineers in cooperation with the Professional Regulation Commission’s Board of Mining Engineer awarded RRMI’s President as the most Outstanding Mining Engineer in the field of Mine Management in 2009. In 2010, 5 more awards for exemplary safety and environmental performance were received by the Project, the highest of which is the Presidential Mineral Industry Environment Titanium Award.
The project was able to transform from a mining project with a negative environmental image to a profitable and world-class project.
